With the EB-680S, Epson offers a LCD projector that features 3500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 14000:1 and a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. According to Epson, the lamp has a durability of 5000 hours. A daily usage of 2 hours makes an operational lifespan of 6.8 years possible. Should a perpendicular setup to the screen not be possible, the integrated keystone correction (horizontal and vertical) helps to realign the image into a perfect rectangle. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 64 cm. Regarding projection size, the value of 3500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 515 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 343 cm. The built-in HDMI-MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) port enables screen mirroring from a smartphone while simultaneously charging it. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (16W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. Since entering the market in 2017, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
