The equipment of the Mitsubishi HC5500 projector includes 1200 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 14000:1 with a HDTV 1920 x 1080 display. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 2000 hours. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. The Projector Calculator helps find the optimal installation dimensions. Looking at practical performance, up to 352 cm can be illuminated with 1200 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 235 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 22 decibels. Since entering the market in 2008, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. However, it remains frequently searched within our database.
If the projector is mounted on the ceiling, an automatic cover for the lens would be a great advantage. Covering it without a ladder would be the ultimate perfection!!!!

Super beamer for the price
Perfect, already the second replacement lamp from the HCinema lamp store and the thing runs like a charm. Home cinema is simply fun with this projector. No problems for about 5 years.

PERFECT
This beamer makes even the more expensive brothers sweat. Price / performance it is the best projector I have ever had... and I‘ve had 5 others so far.

best home theater
if the projector had a few more Ansi lumens, it would be perfect. So the realization remains that the room has to be totally darkened to get super-sharp cinema

Price-performance TOP!
I can also emphasize above all
+ volume
+ sharpness
+ simple menu with sufficient setting options
+ decent zoom range
+ lens (zoom/lens shift) very fine and conveniently adjustable via remote control
But there are also small downsides:
- lens shift only vertical, therefore quickly distortions, if not placed centrally in front of the screen
- black level is quite ok (you can not expect miracles at the price)
I am super satisfied with the good piece! If you want to treat yourself to a projector tuning, you‘ll get a projector that can compete with the big ones for relatively little money, despite the additional costs!

Pure enthusiasm
I‘ve been testing it for two weeks now, but I really couldn‘t find any weak points. The picture is just as you would imagine a home theater picture to be. Black, sharp and high-contrast and with a long-lasting light source. The additional air filter included in the scope of delivery is further protection for the interior. To date, I have not regretted the investment. Especially as the price-performance ratio is right
My verdict: VERY RECOMMENDED

Very good price/performance
Thanks to Daniel Ziesing for his tip from 29.09.08, on the main page your tip is still correct, but the calculator at the top of the bar now seems to show the correct values.
In any case, the values are the same as with the projection-calculator-pro on projectorcentral.

Caution with the lens
The information about the lens in the technical data in the projector database is
incorrect and comes from the HC4900 which has a different projection ratio than the HC5500 so be careful when calculating distances and image sizes.
