As a projector, the Mitsubishi HC3100 combines DLP technology with a resolution of WXGA 1280 x 768, and is additionally specified with 1000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 4500:1. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 2000 hours. To compensate for angled projection positions, the model features 2D keystone correction, which digitally corrects trapezoidal distortion. A look at the light output reveals: The 1000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 321 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 214 cm. The projector was released in 2006 and is officially no longer distributed by Mitsubishi. However, it remains one of the frequently accessed models in our database.

The fan is absolutely quiet for 2018 and that for a UHP based projector. Too bad there are no more new devices from Mitsu on the market in 2018.

DLP pleasure
it‘s my 2nd projector and the picture is really a pleasure and beats every cinema I‘ve been to so far:
Top:
sharpness
in-picture contrast
colorfulness
menu navigation
gigantic HD picture
Suboptimal:
manual focusing on the wheel, awkward fine tuning
no lens shift, so must be straight in front of the screen
