The hardware properties of the HC3000U manufactured by Mitsubishi include 1000 ANSI lumens, a WXGA 1280 x 768 resolution and a contrast value of 4000:1. According to Mitsubishi, the lamp has a durability of 1500 hours. Should a perpendicular setup to the screen not be possible, the integrated keystone correction (horizontal and vertical) helps to realign the image into a perfect rectangle. Looking at practical performance, up to 321 cm can be illuminated with 1000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 214 cm. The projector was released in 2005 and is officially no longer distributed by Mitsubishi.

Have been using the HC3000 for 3 years and am still satisfied with the device. It was cheap to buy (600€ with 2nd replacement lamp) and produces a great picture on the wall. It‘s quiet enough and the HD resolution is actually good enough.
I would possibly switch to a FullHD model from Mitsubishi, but that would cost more and is therefore not worthwhile.
What I miss is Lensshift, but not that bad.

HC3000 - a must see!
With the HC3000, Mitsubishi has achieved a great success. Our impression was: All the advantages of previously much more expensive luxury DLPs at an affordable price and without the previous disadvantages of this technology. In particular, the noise in dark areas is so greatly minimized that it is no longer noticeable. On the plus side, there is a brilliant black level, harmonious colors, and impressive contrast. The HC3000 is dazzlingly bright when needed and beautifully black at the same time. This is convincing and makes the Mitsubishi currently the hottest candidate among 3k euros.
