The projector ScreenPlay 5000 by InFocus utilizes LCD technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 1100 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 1200:1 at a resolution of HDTV 1280 x 720. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 2000 hours. Should a perpendicular setup to the screen not be possible, the integrated keystone correction (horizontal and vertical) helps to realign the image into a perfect rectangle. Looking at practical performance, up to 337 cm can be illuminated with 1100 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 225 cm. The projector was released in 2004 and is officially no longer distributed by InFocus.

I bought the projector because it is HD and I previously had an ASK XVGA projector. This was also good. But unfortunately no DVI interface and not HD. I‘ve been using the projector for 2 years now and I‘m really impressed with the picture. I can‘t say anything about the loud fan noise. I can‘t hear them. But maybe this is also a user problem. They don‘t clean their projector every 250 hours as specified and then maybe there‘s also the smoker. So the fan noise increases due to dirt. Personally, I think it‘s a TOP device and the picture is also good.)

Ordinary picture, but it better not break...
Had the same problems with the green tint when switching on, but I didn‘t think it was that bad. The projector also switched off once or twice for no reason due to overheating, but then stopped working a little later. This was after about 2 1/2 years. Had the device checked by a specialist workshop, mainboard defective. However, repair is not possible as Infocus no longer supplies spare parts. The projector, which wasn‘t actually all that bad, is now just expensive junk
I won‘t be buying my next projector from such a restrictive manufacturer.

Good and cheap
After more than 2 years with the device and now 1600 hours without problems, there is nothing to complain about. A top device for the purchase price of €969 at the time

Infocus service sucks
Have the same problems, only when switching on green tint and for no reason
switch off due to overheating.
Sent in for repair (warranty case), after 9 weeks still no news
device seems lost.
Must advise everyone not to buy an Infocus beamer.

Super entry-level HD projector!
I decided to buy the SP 5000. I‘m not an expert, so my rating is based on my knowledge and judgment.
Disadvantages:
- can‘t do 1080 (compressed)
- no ECO mode
- no lens shift
- M1 port - nice feature, but what‘s the point? Actually for nothing. Adapter to DVI hard to get and expensive!
Personal problems:
- had problems that the projector is sometimes bluish, directly when switching on. Once, the projector switched off automatically due to overheating, although the fans were still in quiet normal mode.
Another time, the fans turned to full throttle, although only hand-warm air came out of the device.
I‘m sure that the bugs (blue picture, temperature) are due to the software.
But all in all, the projector is highly recommended for the cheap entry.
Great picture with an XBOX 360 in HD mode. Picture in normal TV mode (WM) very convincing and definitely better than any standard 80cm TV.
