Based on DLP technology, the LG RD JT51 projects images in a Standard-Portabel environment, with technical specs listing 1500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 1500:1 and a SVGA 800 x 600 resolution. According to LG, the lamp has a durability of 2000 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 337 cm can be illuminated with 1500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 225 cm. This model dates back to 2003 and is no longer part of LG's current product range.

I‘ve had this LG for two years. After quite a lot of test viewing, there was nothing better for comparable money (1111€ at Mediamarkt) back then (2003). The biggest advantage is the very natural colors, which were the main reason for my purchase, and the picture brightness and contrast are also good in darkened rooms. The biggest drawback is the low resolution (800x600), which I found annoying due to the large screen diagonal of approx. 3.5m. This is of course much better with a smaller diagonal. The fan is too loud, which is annoying in quiet movie scenes. My remote control broke after 2 years, replacement costs around €50. I didn‘t buy it because you can also adjust everything on the projector. At some point I bought a very high quality cable (150€) and a DVD player with component output YUV and deinterlacer (Aldi, 70€, great quality), which greatly improved the picture quality.
I have now switched to a VPL-VW10HT 16:9 LCD with WXGA from Sony (NP 7000€), which is of course much sharper and has even better colors after an elaborate calibration, but as far as contrast and brightness are concerned, the LG is better.
So, for popcorn movies in darkened rooms with not too large a screen diagonal, the thing is absolutely usable.
