Based on DLP technology, the LG PF1000UW projects images in a Short Distance environment, with technical specs listing 1000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 150000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. An LED lifespan of 30000 hours is noted in the data sheet for this model – calculating to 20.5 years at four hours of use per day. The short-throw capabilities allow for large images at a short projection distance. According to specifications, a 2-meter wide image requires a distance of only 58 cm. Looking at practical performance, up to 321 cm can be illuminated with 1000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 214 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. For wireless audio output, the projector also supports Bluetooth, making it easy to quickly connect external soundbars. Thanks to MHL support, screen content from mobile devices can be transmitted via cable, including charging power for the device. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 30 decibels. Since entering the market in 2017, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
