The hardware properties of the LC X986 manufactured by Eiki include 3300 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast value of 550:1. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 2000 hours. Regarding setup flexibility, the model features an optical lens shift function alongside digital keystone correction, allowing for precise alignment without distortion. For maximum setup flexibility, the model supports optional interchangeable lenses, meaning the optics can be precisely matched to individual on-site requirements. Suitable distances can be determined using the Projector Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 500 cm can be illuminated with 3300 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 333 cm. The projector was released in 2002 and is officially no longer distributed by Eiki. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.

I own an Eiki LC X986 for home use. However, the projector is not really designed for this. It easily manages a diagonal of 10 meters (I have already tested it myself) and is a bit too loud for a small living room (it is also a high-end boardroom projector)
The picture quality is really convincing in the dark. Rich colors and good resolution. You can get "analog HD" through the comp. connections.
With its 2500 ansi lumen it is a bit weak and not suitable for bright sunlight outside.
All in all, it really is a professional device and oversized for the home. It can handle screen diagonals of several meters in the dark without any problems.
