According to Hitachi, the CP X8170 model provides 7000 ANSI lumens, a contrast ratio of 3000:1 alongside a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Lens Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. Regarding projection size, the value of 7000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 729 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 486 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. An additional 360° projection capability allows the device to be oriented at almost any angle. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2013 and is officially no longer distributed by Hitachi.
