Designed for the Standard-Portabel sector, the LV S4 model from Canon features 1500 ANSI lumens, a native SVGA 800 x 600 resolution and a contrast ratio of 300:1. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 2000 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 337 cm can be illuminated with 1500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 225 cm. The projector was released in 2005 and is officially no longer distributed by Canon.

Operating hours counter, connection via RGB VGA cable
Hello, I recently bought a second-hand Canon LV-S4 at an auction and would now like to read off the operating hours. Unfortunately, the instruction manual only tells me how to reset the operating hours counter to zero after installing a new lamp. The projector has a VGA input to which RGB, S-Video and component video can be connected. I tried to connect my DVD player, which has a YPbPr output, using the RGB-VGA cable. Unfortunately, I have not succeeded, the projector does not seem to receive any signals, although I have set the output of the DVD player to RGB. It is not entirely clear to me from the beamer‘s operating instructions what settings I need to make in order to get a picture. If anyone is familiar with this projector, I would be very grateful for any help!
