The hardware properties of the F1 XGA manufactured by projectiondesign include 3000 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast value of 2000:1. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 2000 hours for this projector's lamp. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. The specifications identify the device as a model with an interchangeable lens option. Matching optional optics allow for exact adaptation to the required image size and projection distance, which can be calculated directly with the Distance Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 477 cm can be illuminated with 3000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 318 cm. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 28 decibels. The projector was released in 2002 and is officially no longer distributed by projectiondesign.
