Behind the name The Premiere 5 is a DLP projector by Samsung, whose main features include 700 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 1000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. With its laser unit, the projector offers a specified light lifespan of 25000 hours. With four hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 17.1 years. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 38 cm. To make performance data comparable based on the ISO lumen values, we calculated an approximate ANSI lumen value. Looking at practical performance, up to 269 cm can be illuminated with 700 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 179 cm. Additionally, a built-in ambient light sensor measures the room lighting and automatically adjusts the projection settings. For media input, video signals up to 1080P and 4K are supported. Furthermore, the model is Bluetooth-enabled, allowing audio signals to be sent wirelessly to external speakers. Since the projector supports Airplay screen mirroring, video signals can also be streamed wirelessly from the end device.
