Brief Introduction
 Beta 2.5 |
A brief introduction to the PH730: The Acer DLP projector offers 1200 Ansi lumens, a contrast of 2500:1 and a WXGA 1280 x 768 resolution. An image width of up to 352 cm is possible as the projector has 1200 Ansi lumens. However, if room light is available, the image should be a maximum of 235 cm wide. The operating noise of only 28 decibels makes the projection quiet. The model built in 2006 is no longer offered by Acer.

Quiet, inexpensive and good projector for home cinema |
|
Because of the extremely unfavorable offset, which has already been criticized, it can‘t satisfy all round. Its yellow display is also not entirely convincing due to a slightly greenish nuance (don‘t get me wrong, almost all projectors have their problems here). The color interpretation in desktop mode is also not the best (blue appears greenish). But if you want to use it primarily for photos and films, this won‘t bother you. Because in pure image reproduction mode, it impresses with brilliant images. Photos appear vivid and color-balanced in a way that a slide projector could not do better (I tested this with a test CD from Heimkino). If it is (and remains) positioned in such a way that the projection is at right angles and in the optimum aspect ratio on the (screen) wall without keystone correction, you have an exceptionally good projector for the money. In DVI mode, the image is so sharp that you can even distinguish the individual pixels of the image at close range. It doesn‘t tolerate residual light very well, but in a dark projection room it definitely gives you that cinema feeling. You can only get more black and grayscale resolution for twice or three times as much money.

how can the projector be identical to the optoma HD72i, when (according to the photo) it has completely different optics and the lens on the other side...?! i think the PH730 is very good (price-performance ratio is great), only the adjustment due to missing lens-shift is very cumbersome for mobile use (unfortunately the upward pointing optics does the rest).
