5/31/2001

May 31, 2001 - Luxeon today introduced its new business line up of front digital projector product - X2, giving the market a new projector that meets the full range of presentation needs of today’s presenters, and functions in a multitude of environments. From fixed-installation in a conference room to road-warriors at off-site meetings, the X2 presents a solution for the performance-minded and budget-conscious user, who requires a versatile projector in every presentation situation.

The Luxeon X2 is a 7.2 lbs. ultra-portable projector in a compact form factor producing attention-grabbing 1200 ANSI lumens in brightness and high contrast ratio of 250:1. The heart of the package is a 3-panel 0.9” polysilicon TFT LCD capable of XGA native resolution with the ability of accepting a variety of signals and resolutions from both PC and Macintosh computers ranging from VGA to SXGA.

Ideal for demanding presentation requirements, the X2’s feature set and high resolution provides maximum visual impact for detailed images from any presentation software, multimedia applications, technical drawings and financial spreadsheets. With features like optical zoom, digital keystone correction and unique Color Imaging System, users will be able to customize the best presentation settings under various ambient environments.

Additional customer-pleasing features like remote control with mouse function, digital zoom, panning, electronic blanking, video freeze and a 3W built-in speaker further give presenters the unique ability to tailor their presentation with special video and multimedia effects. Other notable features are versatile mounting options for permanent conference room use; the mounting mechanism allows ceiling, front and rear projection installation. In addition, an auxiliary display monitor can be connected to X2 to aid the presenter or the audience to view the presentation more easily.

In order to reduce the cost of ownership under today’s voracious demand in power consumption and ever changing standards in video delivery system, it is important to consider features for power saving and compatibility. The X2’s ability to go into standby mode to conserve 90% of the energy while no computer is connected to the projector is an invaluable feature when the projector is not under the supervision of an attendant. To further protect your investment from being obsolete and to maximize ROI, the X2 is HDTV ready up to 720p via the DSub 15-pin connector.

Performance and Versatility are the key design factors for X2. Superb image quality, uncompromising performance, future-ready connectivity and other premium features are great assets for the projector and don’t sacrifice portability or cost. The durability and longevity of 4000-hours lamp life (120W UHP, user replaceable) also provide peace of mind to the user without worries about degrading presentation performance.

Luxeon offers a high level of service and support with a three-year limited warranty on the projector, a 90-day limited warranty on the user-replaceable lamp module. X2 will be available in June 2001.
